About Marvel’s Wonder Man TV Series
Marvel Studios had announced the development of the Wonder Man series for Disney+ in June 2022. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, known for his roles in Aquaman and HBO’s Watchmen, was attached to play the character Simon Williams, also known as Wonder Man. Simon gains superpowers after striking a deal with the villain Baron Zemo. Wonder Man first appeared in Avengers #9 in 1964 as a nemesis of the Avengers but later becomes a member of the superhero team.
The series is being developed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the director of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with Andrew Guest, known for his work on Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Community, serving as the head writer. While the premiere date for Wonder Man has not yet been announced, some filming had been completed before the SAG-AFTRA strike in July. The exact amount of remaining production is currently unknown.
