Hair and makeup designer Flora Moody shared a few photos on Instagram, showcasing actress Naomi Watts in costume and on set. The photos provide a glimpse of the set, with a stone carving depicting a horse and chariot with men battling what appears to be a lion in a majestic hall.
This is the first and potentially final look at The Long Night spin-off, as the show was officially cancelled in 2019. Former WarnerMedia chairman Robert Greenblatt expressed that while the pilot was visually stunning, it did not capture the same depth and richness as the original series.
The Long Night spin-off featured a talented cast, including Josh Whitehouse, Naomi Ackie, Denise Gough, Jamie Campbell Bower, Sheila Atim, Ivanno Jeremiah, Georgie Henley, Alex Sharp, and Toby Regbo. Directed by S.J. Clarkson, the pilot episode came with a hefty price tag of $30 million for HBO.
Although The Long Night spin-off did not live up to expectations, fans can still look forward to the upcoming House of the Dragon series. The world of Game of Thrones continues to captivate audiences, and hopefully, future spin-offs will honor the legacy of the original series.
