During a conference held by Morgan Stanley’s Technology, Media, and Telecom division on March 4th, Lionsgate’s vice chairman, Michael Burns, shared some details about the upcoming projects. He revealed that the new Twilight continuation would be an animated series and also mentioned that a John Wick television series is in development.

Burns expressed confidence in the potential success of the Twilight project, stating, “I think there’ll be a lot of interest in that.” He then went on to mention the John Wick spin-off, saying, “I think we’ll take one of our great action franchises starring Keanu Reeves, I think it’ll be a television series.”

John Wick Spin-Off: A New Television Series in Development

Lionsgate has exciting plans for a new spin-off television series of the popular John Wick franchise. This spin-off will be separate from the previously announced prequel series, The Continental, which is set in the 1970s.

During a conference, Lionsgate’s vice chairman, Michael Burns, revealed that the new John Wick spin-off will be a television series. He expressed confidence in the potential success of the project, mentioning that they will take one of their great action franchises starring Keanu Reeves and adapt it for television.

Twilight Animated Series: Continuing the Saga in Animation

In addition to the John Wick spin-off, Lionsgate has also announced an exciting continuation of the Twilight franchise. This time, it will be in the form of an animated series.

During the conference, Michael Burns expressed confidence in the potential interest in the Twilight animated series. Fans of the franchise can look forward to exploring the world of Twilight in a new and visually captivating format.

The Continental: A Separate Project from the John Wick Spin-Off

It’s important to note that the previously announced prequel series, The Continental, is not connected to the new John Wick spin-off. The Continental, which premiered on Peacock in the US and Prime Video internationally, consisted of three one-and-a-half-hour movies exploring the backstory of Ian McShane’s character, Winston Scott.

However, according to Michael Burns, the deal for The Continental was relatively short-term with Peacock and Amazon. This suggests that the new John Wick television series will be a different project altogether and not a continuation of The Continental storyline.

While The Continental may not have garnered enthusiasm from Ian McShane, who plays Winston Scott in the John Wick films, there is still excitement surrounding the future of the John Wick franchise on the big screen. The upcoming film, Ballerina, will expand the thrilling world of assassins and their dangerous underworld.

Ballerina: An Upcoming Film Expanding the John Wick Universe

Alongside the television spin-off, fans of the John Wick series can also anticipate the release of the upcoming film, Ballerina. This film will focus on the character Rooney, a dancer-turned-hired gun seeking revenge against the ruthless Ruska Roma crime family.

Rooney was briefly introduced in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, portrayed by Unity Phelan. The film will delve deeper into her story and expand the thrilling world of assassins and their dangerous underworld.

Despite Ian McShane’s lack of enthusiasm for The Continental, the future of the John Wick franchise remains promising. Stay tuned for more updates on these exciting projects.
