Exploring the Futuristic World of Iwájú

Iwájú, Disney’s limited series, takes viewers on a captivating journey to a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria. The first trailer offers a glimpse into this groundbreaking animation collaboration with Kugali, an outside studio. Set to release on February 28th on Disney+, the series introduces audiences to a world brimming with advanced technology and a vibrant African spirit.

Directed by Olufikayo Ziki Adeola and produced by Christina Chen from Disney Animation, Iwájú is a coming-of-age story that follows the adventures of Tola, a young girl from a wealthy island, and her best friend Kole, a self-taught tech expert. As they navigate the futuristic landscape of Lagos, they encounter a wide range of intriguing elements, including a robotic lizard named Otin with remarkable abilities.

Embracing African Culture and Talent

Iwájú not only showcases the talent and creativity of African artists but also celebrates the rich culture and vibrant future of Lagos, Nigeria. The series features a talented voice cast, including Simisola Gbadamosi as Tola, Dayo Okeniyi, Femi Branch, Siji Soetan as Kole, and Weruche Opia.
