Despite the show’s immense popularity and successful adaptations in novels and comics, Avatar: The Last Airbender hasn’t had much success in the realm of video games. Fans had high hopes for the 2023 release, Quest for Balance, especially with the show’s resurgence through the Netflix adaptation and new animated projects. However, the game received negative reviews, earning a mere 4/10 rating from IGN. We criticized its clunky combat, excessive and pointless puzzles, and questionable choices in highlighting scenes from the series.

The last game based on the sequel series, The Legend of Korra, was released back in 2014 and also received a 4/10 rating from IGN. Despite having a reputable developer behind it, The Legend of Korra game left players disappointed.

With the announcement of a new competitive multiplayer fighting game set in the Avatar: The Last Airbender universe, fans are hopeful for a game that truly captures the essence and excitement of the beloved show. The partnership between Maximum Entertainment and Paramount Consumer Products brings anticipation for a game that will finally do justice to the world of Avatar.
