Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is a romantic comedy film directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, the movie explores a unique love story between a human and a robot. The story revolves around Aryan, an ambitious robotic engineer played by Shahid Kapoor. He is fully dedicated to his profession and has no time for love until he meets SIFRA (Super Intelligent Female Robot Automation), portrayed by Kriti Sanon, during a visit to the US. Aryan falls in love with SIFRA without realizing that she is a machine. When he discovers the truth, he goes through heartbreak and enters a self-destructive phase. Meanwhile, his family pressures him to get married, leading Aryan to introduce SIFRA as his girlfriend. The film follows the consequences and challenges faced by Aryan and SIFRA in their unconventional relationship.

The first half of the film focuses on the romantic aspects of Aryan and SIFRA’s relationship. However, the logic behind Aryan’s inability to realize that SIFRA is a robot becomes questionable. The film also includes several scenes that revolve around cigarettes, which seem unnecessary and detract from the overall story. The second half of the film shifts its focus to typical family drama, resulting in a draggy narrative. Additionally, the portrayal of SIFRA’s flaws and the rushed handling of subplots undermine the impact of the story.
Kriti Sanon delivers an impressive performance as SIFRA, effectively portraying a robot with limited facial expressions. Her nuanced acting keeps the audience intrigued and entertained, particularly during the climax scene. Shahid Kapoor shines in his role as Aryan, balancing out the absence of expressions on Kriti’s face. However, Aryan’s character traits can be annoying at times, and Shahid convincingly portrays this aspect.
Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah have crafted an intriguing tale, successfully presenting Kriti’s character as a robot. However, the film suffers from an overload of elements that fail to engage the audience. The family drama and outdated, sexist jokes detract from the overall viewing experience. The music in the film, including the hit song “Laal Peeli Akhiyaan,” is a highlight, but the other songs are forgettable.
